Our story

After several years of running a CSA and wholesaling to restaurants and health food stores on rented land, Farmer Morgan Hess sought to own the land he was working. Morgan and his family have called Buck Hill Farm in Mendham, New Jersey home since 2021. In that time, they have renovated the property’s original cottage built in 1931, removed invasive species, revitalized the native wildflower meadow, and created a series of field blocks filled with permanent raised beds.

Planted with care. Tended by hand.

We use a pesticide-free, no-till / low-tillage method of farming utilizing a permanment bed system with an emphasis on cover-cropping, crop rotation, and attracting beneficial insects.
